The President of a Progressive Christian Voice, the Very Rev’d Dr Peter Catt, has responded to the claim by Chris Meney, Director of the Sydney Marriage and Family Centre, that Christian voters could punish Kevin Rudd for his stand on marriage equality.
“I remind people that there is evidence that a majority of Christian voters are in favour of marriage equality. It is time to over turn the stereotype that Christians are socially and politically conservative. Many are far more interested in encouraging human flourishing than being moral police. Kevin’s stand on marriage equality is compassionate and to be applauded,” Dr Catt said.
