Today the Tasmanian Parliament will debate and vote on a motion in support for marriage equality. If passed this will be the first time an Australian Parliament has passed a pro-marriage equality motion.

This vote affects us all. The intention of the motion is to send a compelling message of support for marriage equality to Federal Parliament. With the support of the Tasmanina Labor Party and Greens it is expected to pass.

You can watch the debate and vote live online. If you are in Hobart we encourage you to come to the House of Assembly and watch from the visitors gallery (best to arrive by 2:15pm at the latest to get a seat for the vote).

The timing of the vote and debate are as follows:

Debate starts in Parliament and online: 12 noon
Vote scheduled to occur: 2:50pm
