HUNDREDS of people turned out for the Mount Isa Equality Fun Day at the PCYC yesterday. Supporting the lesbian, bisexual, gay and transsexual community, the family-friendly event was attended by representatives from PFLAG Brisbane and Mount Isa, the Queensland Police Service, Teens for Change and Young People Ahead.

Mount Isa Mayor Tony McGrady spoke to the crowd about marriage equality and legislation and gay right activist Daniel Witthaus talked about important current issues affecting discrimination in rural communities.
