A bill to allow same-sex civil unions will be introduced into Queensland Parliament this week in a move dismissed by the opposition as “marriage by another name”.
Deputy Premier Andrew Fraser is championing the push to recognise committed gay and lesbian relationships at a state level, saying it is the most a state can do given marriage laws are a federal matter.
