Dear Equality Supporter,

The coming weeks will provide you with many opportunities to play a part in the campaign for equality. In Tasmania there will be huge forum, in Mt. Isa a rally outside Bob Katter’s office, and in Sydney two fundraisers and the filming of a campaign video. Below are the details on how supporters across Australia can help make history.

We also have a new survey asking our supporters Would you get married in Tasmania?, which we encourage you to complete.

You’re invited to a special forum in support of marriage equality in Hobart on September 13th. Guest speakers include Tasmanian world champion axeman, David Foster, and former senior Liberal Party advisor and current Mercury columnist, Greg Barnes. Further details on the forum can be viewed here.  As mentioned we are conducting a survey to determine the economic benefit to Tasmania if it becomes the first state to allow same-sex marriages. Please fill out our survey here.

From 11am until noon local supporters in Mt. Isa are holding Mt Isa’s first Equal Love Rally opposite Mr. Katter’s office on the cnr Simpson & Grace Streets. If you live nearby head down and help show the world that Mt Isa is an inclusive and tolerant city. Show your support for the 11% of our young people who are same-sex attracted. Further details here.

We are preparing to create a huge new video in support of equality. We are filing Sydney Town Hall with a thousand people of all ages on Sunday September 25th to create a stunning video & send a powerful message of support to our government. A number of high profile celebrities will also be taking part on the day. To be part of the day register here.

We want to make it us fun as possible for you to contribute to the campaign. With the help of a variety of community leaders, community organisations, DJs and entertainers, Sydney will be hosting the biggest ever Buck$ and Hen$ night. These fundraising events will on the 23rd of September with 100% of funds raised going to the fight for equality.

Are you one of the many Labor Party supporters, members, or union members that want to continue to see marriage equality progress within the party? If so Rainbow Labor needs your help. Show your support to the ALP by answering Three Questions on marriage equality.
