Anti-gay flyers are being distributed to tens of thousands of Tasmanian homes right now, as part of a massive campaign to block marriage equality in Tasmania. This is just one of many that have been distributed:

Another flyer rubbishes “same-sex marriage”, and yet another one quotes bizarre anti-gay statistics and claims “homosexuality should not be tolerated”. We may see even more in the coming days.

We need your help to meet the challenge of these homophobic attacks.

In just two days Tasmanians go to the polls in three Upper House electorates that hold the key to achieving marriage equality in the state and potentially the whole country.

Last year the Same-Sex Marriage Bill was defeated by just two votes. This Saturday three of the people who voted no are up for election.

Can you help us win two of those seats?

Almost all the challenging candidates support marriage equality. This is the best chance we have of electing members who will support this historic bill and start the marriage equality ball rolling across Australia.

The outcome will be tight. Every vote counts. We are distributing flyers with compelling personal stories of people affected by inequality. With your help we can get them to all households by Saturday.

Here’s what you can do:

1. Donate so we can quickly leaflet all households and counter the hate and our cashed up opposition.

2. If you live in one of the electorates read our voting guides and share them with friends and family on facebook.

3. If you know someone in these electorates: Nelson (Sandy Bay to Kingston), Pembroke (Risdon Vale to Tranmere) and Montgomery (Burnie to Ulverstone), call them and urge them to vote for equality.

4. If you are enrolled to vote in the electorates but you are away or you would like to vote early, click for pre-poll and postal voting information.

Together we will overcome hate and achieve marriage equality.
