An Australian TV advertisement addressing the myths and misconceptions about marriage equality has been nominated for a global broadcast award.

“What is marriage really all about?”, an ad produced by Australian Marriage Equality and Momo Films with voiceover by Australian actor, Shane Jacobson, has been nominated in the social issue category in this year’s International Awards of Broadcast Design (BASS) competition.

Momo Films producer, Spencer McLaren, said he is excited by the award.

“It’s an honour to be nominated for a BASS award in broadcast design and in particular the Best Social category because it recognises good design that promotes a better world”, he said.

Australian Marriage Equality national convener, Rodney Croome, urged marriage equality supporters to vote for the ad.

“If the ad wins, it will help focus attention on how we are dispelling the myths and misconceptions surrounding marriage equality.”

Voting lasts for three more days. You can vote for the ad by clicking here:

Public votes count for 40% of the final decision.
