LABOR Senator Louise Pratt has made an emotional plea to her fellow Senators to back a bill to enable gay marriage to prevent people, including herself, from continued discrimination.
The West Australian Senator’s partner was born female but has changed gender.
Holding back tears, Senator Pratt said, “I ask Senators in this chamber to remember, when they are deciding how they vote, that we exist.”
