The ACT Labor Government has indicated it will legislate for same-sex marriage in its next term of office should it win the upcoming territory elections in a month’s time.

With Tasmania’s lower house of Parliament creating history late last week by becoming the first parliament in the country to pass a state-based same-sex marriage bill, ACT Deputy Chief Minister Andrew Barr said he wanted Canberra to be ultimately known as the most LGBTI friendly city in Australia.
