Federal parliament resumes next month and same-sex marriage is back on the agenda. A parliamentary committee recently voted in favour of changing the Marriage Act to allow for same-sex marriage. The decision came after the committee received almost 80,000 submissions, 46,000 of them supporting same-sex marriage. Church leaders remain divided on the issue.
