News of President Barack Obama’s public support of gay marriage may have come as a pleasant surprise for gay Australians this morning, but it could mean very little for the political and religious outlook locally.
The United States President made the declaration overnight in a televised interview, six months out from the US presidential elections.
It comes after Republican candidate Mitt Romney evaded questions on the topic at recent media events.
