Since Bob Carr published his views on marriage equality in December they have been widely read and cited by other politicians.
“After a few years of civil unions [in Australia], the move to full marriage equality will happen effortlessly,” he wrote.
“Apparently this is the trend line in the UK, and I can see it happening here. Give it another three years.”
