Two independent MPs say they remain open minded about supporting laws on same-sex civil unions if proposed bills to legalise gay marriage fail.
Rob Oakeshott and Andrew Wilkie said if bills to legalise gay marriage were defeated in parliament they would remain “open minded” about civil unions but fellow independent Tony Windsor was less committal, saying only that he remained opposed to gay marriage.
