–  On 14 February 2012, the Hon. Cate Faehrmann gave notice of a motion in the following terms:That this House:(a) supports marriage equality, and(b) calls on the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia to amend the Commonwealth Marriage Act 1961 to provide for marriage equality.
– The Coalition and the Labor Party have been granted a free conscience vote on the motion.
