Federal Finance Minister Penny Wong has refused to say whether Labor’s gay marriage advocates have the numbers to change the party platform on the issue at the ALP national conference.
During the conference, which starts on Friday, ACT Treasurer and Right faction member Andrew Barr is expected to move an amendment to change the Marriage Act to ensure equal access to marriage for all couples irrespective of their sex.
