Robbie Moore would like to one day be allowed to marry his partner of more than five years.

His three siblings have been afforded the opportunity but because he is in a same-sex relationship the law says he cannot wed.

The Tasmanian convenor of Rainbow Labor and his partner Matt Hastings yesterday hit out at Senator Helen Polley’s call on delegates to this weekend’s ALP National Conference to support the party’s current stance against same-sex marriage.

“Helen Polley is entitled to her opinion, but it’s a faith-based opinion and it is not in line with the views of Tasmanians,” Mr Moore said.

Senator Polley says while she believes all humans should be equal in their rights, this is not a debate about rights.
