WERRIWA federal Labor MP Laurie Ferguson is the lone voice among Macarthur MPs supporting proposed changes to the Marriage Act.
Debate on the issue, advanced by Labor and the Greens, to amend the act to recognise same-sex couples marked the end of parliament’s winter session in August. Mr Ferguson said he would be inclined to support the changes although he considered the option of civil union to be a reasonable compromise.
