THERE was a heated exchange at Mount Isa City Council yesterday when the organiser of Sunday’s first equal love rally addressed the chamber.
Responding to an invitation extended by Mayor John Molony in The North West Star last week, organiser James Newburrie attended yesterday’s council meeting to address councillors and chief executive officer Bhan Pratap.
Mr Newburrie said he had hoped to question the council on what he believed was a “clear attempt to stop my equal love rally”.
