THE majority of residents in the Fowler electorate are opposed to same-sex marriage, Fowler federal Labor MP Chris Hayes said.
Via street meetings, formal meetings and an online poll, Mr Hayes asked residents if the federal government should legislate to recognise same-sex marriage. Ninety per cent of the 395 voters said no.
Mr Hayes said he acted impartially in liaison with constituents and has presented the results to Parliament.
