Senator Carol Brown, Labor Senator for Tasmania, today launched her official website and a survey encouraging Tasmanians to have their say on Marriage Equality.

Senator Carol Brown has created a Marriage Equality Survey for Tasmanians following the motion passed in the House of Representatives on 18 November 2010 calling on all Politicians to gauge their local community’s views on same sex marriage.

“I personally believe that an amendment to the Marriage Act will ensure that Australia remains a country which promotes equality, fairness and dignity for all citizens.

“However, I want to give Tasmanians the opportunity to put forward their view on marriage equality,” Senator Carol Brown said.

Senator Carol Brown encouraged all Tasmanians to put forward their view on Marriage Equality by filling out the online survey at www.carolbrown.alp.org.au.

The results of the survey will inform a report back to the Parliament regarding the views of Tasmanians towards Marriage Equality.
