“This latest poll shows a strong majority of Australians continue to back equality and fair go for everyone” Alex Greenwich, Chair of Australian Marriage Equality said.

“Politicians have a responsibility to reflect this strong support and legislate for marriage equality as soon as possible,” Mr Greenwich said.

“Poll after poll consistently show that around two thirds of Australians support marriage equality and its time our Parliament outlined the pathway to ensure everyone is afforded the same opportunities in life.”

“This is an issue about people, not politics, and we must remember that this straightforward reform is about families, neighbours, friends and workmates and our shared Australian values of fairness for all.”

“It’s now time leaders across the political spectrum come together and deliver a parliamentary pathway to equality so we don’t have to wait any longer,” Mr Greenwich concluded.
