GAY rights campaigners have accused the Queensland government of playing favourites after learning the premier met with Brisbane’s Catholic archbishop the day before introducing changes to civil union laws.

The government has denied an eleventh-hour meeting with Archbishop Mark Coleridge swayed its decision to scrap state-sanctioned same-sex marriage laws.
