TALK about the pot calling the kettle black. This week the Australian Christian Lobby, which likes to accuse the gay “lobby” of being the thought police, of using political correctness to quash free speech, was engaging in some mind control of its own by trying to bully the sponsors of the Seven Network’s Sunrise into withdrawing their support for the breakfast program.
They were outraged by a planned tele-feature with Marie Claire magazine, in which celebrities such as Magda Szubanski speak out in favour of gay marriage. The ACL also tried to shut down free speech on the program by appealing to the Australian Communications and Media Authority to block airing of the “I Do” campaign.
