Figures from the ACT Government show it is not just same-sex couples who have taken advantage of the Territory’s civil partnerships laws.
The law has been in place since 2008, and is a watered-down version of 2006 legislation that allowed for civil unions between same-sex couples.
In its first year 60 couples registered their relationship, and every year the figure has grown.
