The Australian Labor Party has strengthened its commitment to marriage equality for all Australians by amending its policy platform to ensure equal access to marriage for same-sex couples.

Since forming government in 2007, the Labor Party has removed discrimination and equalised treatment for same-sex couples by amending over 80 Commonwealth laws in the areas of taxation, social security, health, aged care, superannuation, immigration, child support, and family law.
