GAY marriage is unlikely to become law if federal MPs are given a conscience vote, Opposition frontbencher Malcolm Turnbull says.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard is likely to defy a push by Labor’s left faction for the party to take a formal position on the issue and, instead, give MPs a conscience vote, News Ltd reports.
