UNA Harkin and Katherine Eastaughffe have been together for 11 years.They have two children Daniel, 2, and Isaac, eight months.

They have everything Australians expect from a loving, committed relationship except the right to get married.

“I could walk up to a man in the street and we wouldn’t love each other, we wouldn’t be committed to each other, but legally we could get married,” Ms Harkin said.

“Katherine and I have been together for 11 years, we have two kids together and we can’t get married.”
