A SURVEY of the inner-city Brisbane electorate has found strong support for gay marriage ahead of a federal parliamentary discussion on the issue on Wednesday.
Liberal member for Brisbane Teresa Gambaro conducted her own survey and said 1500 people in her electorate, or two per cent, responded with 73 per cent in favour of changing the law.
Ms Gambaro said she supported coalition party policy which currently defines marriage as between a man and a woman.
