Anthony Callea is the latest celebrity to throw his weight behind legalising gay marriage, saying it would only be fair if he and partner Tim Campbell had the option.
“I just think whether you want to or not, the choice should be there,” Callea said.
“It’s about having the same rights as anyone else and I think it’s great what New York has done. Hopefully we’ll follow soon.”
Callea’s plea came after reports celesbian Ruby Rose had become engaged to her partner Lia-Belle King.
The pair were seen sporting diamond rings ahead of Rose’s trip to China for Prada’s fashion show.
Callea added it had been a joy to see pro-gay marriage pop diva Lady Gaga in the country.
“You can either love her or hate her but she’s brought excitement back,” he said.
