Same-sex marriage laws were top of the agenda at the WA Labor Party State Conference on Saturday, with a clear majority of members voting in favour of supporting a change to the current marriage laws.

Fremantle MHR Melissa Parke, who attended the conference but did not vote, said she was glad to see marriage equality supported by WA Labor.

Cockburn MLA Fran Logan said that while gay marriage was a Federal issue, a position needed to be taken, and he was pleased to vote in support of a change in the Marriage Act.
