GAY marriage is likely to be legalised within the next two years, a prominent Queensland activist says.
Brisbane mother Shelley Argent, Queensland’s 2011 Senior of the Year, has been actively campaigning for gay and lesbian rights since her son told her he was gay in 1998.
Yesterday she addressed hundreds of same-sex marriage supporters in Brisbane’s Queens Park for the Equal Love rally and urged them to “keep fighting”.
