The Gillard Government last week appeared to back flip on its support for legislation that could lead to same-sex marriage in Australian territories.
The move came after Greens leader Senator Bob Brown put forward a private member’s bill proposing to limit the federal government’s ability to stop laws in the ACT and Northern Territory.
If passed, the bill could stop the federal government overturning same-sex marriage in the territories.
