Monash residents have been asked for their views on same-sex marriage as the Federal Government moves to gauge Australia’s reaction to the often-controversial issue.
Chisholm Labor MP Anna Burke invited her constituents, who comprise about half of Monash residents, to say whether same-sex couples should be able to legally marry.
“This is a very specific issue because so many people have already been getting in touch with me I thought it would be good to throw the net wider,” Ms Burke said.
She invited all residents, whether they held a strong opinion or not, to contact her.
