2011 will be a decisive year for marriage equality. The end of 2010 saw a remarkable increase in support for equality among our politicians. Now it’s time to build on that achievement by making a New Year’s resolution to meet your local MP.
AME also had a great year. We contributed to ensuring marriage equality was a major federal election issue, kept a conscience vote on the political agenda, pushed successfully for the introduction of state same-sex marriage laws, commissioned important research on the issue, helped maintain the profile of marriage equality in the media and launched a new campaign to skill and empower marriage equality advocates.
Australia has never been in a better position to achieve marriage equality and AME has never been in a better position to make sure it does.
